Is citizenship status important?

Most European leagues are allowed a maximum of three imports to play per
down. One of these imports would be you. Of these three imports, (2) North
Americans (USA & Canada) are the maximum that can take the field. A (3rd)
import is allowed but only if he is a Dual or non Domestic citizen. These players
are not easy to find so many teams go without that third import.
