Donald Brown Scouting Director - Colorado
|
|
|
Donald Brown has joined World Sports Scouting's staff as the State
Director of Colorado. He also serves a National Scout with an
emphasis in the Mountain West region of the US.
Many bounces, twists and turns has led me to my destination of
working with World Sports Scouting. While growing up in Chicago,
Illinois I became a sports enthusiast at a young age and that
enthusiasm for sports has continued throughout life. In elementary
school football and baseball were the sports I enjoyed playing most.
In middle school I started to enjoy playing basketball. And, in high
school I lettered in basketball, baseball and cross country track.
Whereas playing sports has always been enjoyable, I've always
believed it was essential to stay physically fit and important to become well educated. Besides playing
some basketball in college, I earned a B.A. Degree in Physical Education & Sport Science from Denver
University. Later, I earned a M.S. Degree in Physical Education from Chicago State University. Most
recently, I earned an academic fitness specialist certification from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
I've been officiating high school basketball awhile and high school soccer too. I've found officiating those
sports are good for cardiovascular endurance. After completing undergraduate school, I worked as a
consultant raising funds to provide sports equipment for kids participating in the Denver Police Athletic
League. After completing graduate school, I taught elementary and middle school physical education and
health classes for Curriculum Services.
I'm ecstatic about scouting for World Sports Scouting. Athletics can provide opportunities for a wonderful
lifestyle. Athletics has been the staple of my lifestyle and I really enjoy helping others to stay involved with
sports. If you're in the game, whether it be football, basketball or baseball, it's a good idea to work hard
and whatever is necessary to stay in the game. The benefits can be enormous and essentially
unparalleled for athletes possessing exceptional athleticism and good character.
I was encouraged to stay involved with sports since winning the Chicago Public League basketball
championship and participating in the state tournament. I'm grateful and appreciative of the opportunity to
encourage athletes to continue to compete at a high level. I bring dedication, passion and a good work
ethic to World Sports Scouting. I joined World Sports Scouting as Regional Scouting Director of the
Mountain West Regional with a concentration in Colorado.
